ADDICTION

IT'S MISUNDERSTOOD

Sex addiction is some other form of unprocessed trauma. Most sex addicts are overwhelmed with guilt, shame and self-loathing. They’re compelled to engage in acts they don’t necessarily want to.

Many have suffered from childhood sexual abuse or some other form of untreated post-traumatic stress. And these feelings and emotions have never been dealt with.

ADDICTIVE BEHAVIOUR

A cycle of addictive behaviour develops to avoid unbearable feelings. While symptoms of sex addiciton may vary, intervention is required to stop the addiction cycle. It starts with abstinence and understanding why the individual acts out, what drives their behaviour.

Recovering from sex addiction is challenging. A sex addict is tempted daily. From compulsive flirting to pornography addiction or cyber-sex, accessing their drug of choice is easy.

Long-term treatment is needed to facilitate the development of a healthy relationship with themselves and their sexuality.

We cater to each clients’ particular needs providing a tailor-made programme and offering support long after they have been discharged.
